Idaho Inclusive Bathroom Map

So, what is this list exactly?

Why we made this resource:

Across Idaho, transgender and gender diverse people often navigate uncertainty when using public restrooms. Something many people take for granted can become a daily source of anxiety, fear, planning, or risk assessment for trans individuals. Community members regularly ask where they can safely stop during travel, which businesses are welcoming, and what places may be safer to avoid. In a largely rural state with limited centralized LGBTQ+ resources, finding reliable information can be difficult.

The Idaho Safe Bathroom List was created because our communities need practical tools, not just conversations. We wanted to build a resource made by Idahoans, for Idahoans, that increases access to information, strengthens community knowledge sharing, and helps people feel more prepared when moving through public spaces.

The creation of this list also comes in response to Idaho's changing legislative landscape, including the passage of HB752 (In Effect July 1st, 2026). This legislation has heightened concerns for many transgender, nonbinary, and gender diverse Idahoans regarding restroom access, safety, and how public spaces may be navigated moving forward. Regardless of differing interpretations of the law, many community members have expressed increased fear, confusion, and uncertainty about where they can safely use the restroom without confrontation, discrimination, or risk. This resource aims to meet that reality with community support, shared information, and practical navigation tools.

At Trans Affirm, we believe community care matters. There is not always an institution, policy, or system stepping in to reduce harm in moments like these.

There isn't anyone who will swoop in and save us from bigotry and anti trans legislation. We have to be here for our communities. And this is how we can.

Reduces Uncertainty During Daily Life

Knowing where safe restroom options may exist can reduce some of the uncertainty many transgender Idahoans face when working, traveling, attending events, seeking healthcare, or completing everyday tasks.

Supports Rural and Traveling Community Members

Many Idaho communities have limited LGBTQ+ infrastructure, particularly in rural areas. This resource helps people traveling between towns, living outside major cities, or attending unfamiliar events identify potentially safer restrooms.

Encourages Inclusive Community Spaces

By recognizing businesses and organizations making efforts toward inclusion, this list helps encourage safer community environments and provides opportunities for businesses to visibly communicate support for gender diverse patrons

Builds Community Knowledge and Mutual Support

This resource is built through shared community experiences and contributions. It creates a place for Idahoans to exchange information, help one another navigate changing circumstances, and strengthen collective community care across the state.

Important Disclaimer About This Resource

The Idaho Safe Bathroom List is a community-informed resource intended to help individuals make personal decisions about navigating bathroom access in Idaho. Information included in this list may be based on self-reported community experiences, public observations, submitted feedback, reported signage, publicly available information, and, when possible, direct communication with businesses or organizations.

Experiences with restroom access, safety, inclusion, and comfort can vary between individuals and may change over time. A listing on this map does not represent a guarantee of safety, inclusion, policy enforcement, legal compliance, or future experiences at any location.

When possible, Trans Affirm works to contact businesses, organizations, and public spaces directly to confirm restroom policies, signage, accessibility information, or inclusive practices. However, due to the size of this project, changing business practices, staffing differences, evolving policies, and limited capacity, not all information can be independently verified or continuously monitored.

Any descriptions, categorizations, notes, or community feedback reflected within this resource represent reported experiences, opinions, or informational summaries and should not be interpreted as statements of fact regarding the character, intent, legal compliance, or practices of any business, organization, or individual.

Businesses, organizations, and community members are encouraged to contact Trans Affirm regarding corrections, updates, policy changes, signage updates, or concerns about listed information so this resource can remain as accurate, current, and useful as possible.

Don't See Enough Submissions In Your Area? Help Us Expand The List.

This resource is entirely community-powered, and we need your help to grow it, especially in Idaho’s rural communities.

Many areas across Idaho still have limited submissions, which means community knowledge gaps remain. If you know of a bathroom space, business, organization, public building, or location that should be added to the list, we encourage you to submit it.

Submissions may include community-reported inclusive spaces, locations with affirming or gender neutral signage, businesses with welcoming restroom practices, accessibility notes, policy information, or personal experiences navigating bathroom access. Community feedback about concerning, harmful, inaccessible, or non-inclusive experiences may also be submitted.

While Trans Affirm works to review information and, when possible, directly contact locations to confirm signage or restroom practices, this project relies heavily on community participation and shared experiences.

Every submission helps expand access to information, strengthen safety tools for transgender and gender diverse Idahoans, and improve representation for communities outside major population centers. Rural Idaho needs to be represented, too!
