Trans Affirm is a community-based nonprofit providing resources, education, mutual aid, and support for trans and gender diverse people across Idaho, with a focus on rural and underserved communities. We do a large variety of different events to support the local Trans population of Idaho, such as Support Groups, Resource and “How-To” fairs, Grant opportunities, connection events, transition wear distribution, and more!

Yes. Trans Affirm is a registered nonprofit organization in the state of idaho. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Our EIN is available on our donation platforms and upon request.

Yes! We collaborate with aligned organizations when partnerships support community safety, equity, and access to resources.

Donations support direct community programs, including transition wear access, support groups, education, mutual aid, travel to rural communities, and community events. Trans Affirm is volunteer-led with no physical office.

Trans Affirm moderates its social media and online platforms to protect community safety. We may remove comments, restrict access, or block accounts when behavior violates our Code of Conduct or community standards, and moderation decisions are not required to be debated publicly.

Appeals may be submitted in good faith. Trans Affirm is not obligated to reverse decisions, especially in cases of repeated or serious violations. All Code of Conduct appeals are reviewed by the board.

Code of Conduct for Trans Affirm, Inc.
Introduction
The Code of Conduct for Trans Affirm, Inc. applies to all participants in Trans Affirm spaces, including board members, volunteers, staff, contractors, partners, and community members. This includes in person events, virtual programs, online platforms, and any space where Trans Affirm is represented.
This Code is established to ensure that all participants uphold the values, mission, and integrity of Trans Affirm. Everyone engaging with Trans Affirm is expected to conduct themselves in a manner that fosters inclusivity, respect, accountability, and community safety.
1. Respect and Inclusion
All individuals must be treated with respect, dignity, and care, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, or any other protected or marginalized identity.
Participants are expected to actively promote inclusive environments where people feel welcomed, affirmed, and valued. This includes using correct names and pronouns, respecting lived experiences, and honoring personal boundaries.
2. Professionalism
All individuals representing or participating in Trans Affirm spaces are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner.
This includes punctuality, reliability, and preparedness for meetings, events, and commitments. Confidential or sensitive information related to Trans Affirm or its community members must be protected and not shared without authorization.
3. Ethical Behavior
Participants must act with honesty, integrity, and transparency in all interactions connected to Trans Affirm.
Harassment, discrimination, bullying, intimidation, coercion, bad faith engagement, or manipulation are not tolerated. Conflicts of interest must be disclosed to appropriate leadership when they arise.
4. Accountability
Individuals are expected to take responsibility for their actions and engage in good faith when harm occurs.
Violations of this Code of Conduct should be reported through Trans Affirm’s established grievance process. All participants are expected to cooperate with reviews, investigations, or resolution processes as requested.
5. Collaboration and Teamwork
Trans Affirm spaces are collaborative and community centered. Participants are expected to communicate respectfully, listen to differing perspectives, and contribute constructively.
Disruptive behavior, repeated boundary violations, or conduct that undermines trust, safety, or the ability of others to participate may be addressed through corrective action.
6. Safety and Wellbeing
The safety and wellbeing of trans and gender diverse people is central to Trans Affirm’s mission.
Participants must follow established safety guidelines at events and programs and report unsafe conditions, threats, or concerns to organizers or leadership immediately. Behavior that causes emotional, physical, or psychological harm may result in removal or restriction from Trans Affirm spaces.
7. Online Presence and Digital Spaces
This Code of Conduct applies fully to all digital spaces, including social media comments, direct messages, email communication, Discord servers, virtual support groups, and any online platform operated by or affiliated with Trans Affirm.
Trans Affirm reserves the right to moderate digital spaces by removing comments, restricting access, or blocking accounts when behavior violates this Code or threatens community safety. Moderation decisions are made to protect the community and are not required to be debated publicly.
8. Representation of Trans Affirm
Individuals representing Trans Affirm must do so accurately and responsibly in public spaces, including online platforms and community events.
Personal opinions should not be presented as official positions of Trans Affirm. Authorization from leadership is required before making public statements, commitments, or representations on behalf of the organization.
9. Compliance With Laws and Organizational Policies
All participants must comply with applicable local, state, and federal laws, as well as Trans Affirm bylaws, policies, and procedures.
Participation in required trainings, meetings, or compliance processes is expected for board members and volunteers.
10. Commitment to Mission
Participants are expected to support and advance the mission of Trans Affirm through respectful engagement, continued learning, and advocacy that centers trans and gender diverse people.
Actions that undermine the mission, values, or safety of the community may result in corrective action.
Safety, Access, and Event Participation
Trans Affirm is committed to maintaining trauma informed, affirming, and accessible spaces. To uphold this commitment, Trans Affirm reserves the right to restrict or prohibit participation in its events, programs, or spaces when an individual’s presence is reasonably determined to pose a risk to community safety, wellbeing, or trust.
This includes situations involving credible allegations, documented patterns of harmful behavior, or known histories related to violence, sexual misconduct, harassment, abuse, or exploitation. Decisions may be made without a criminal conviction when necessary to protect community safety.
Trans Affirm is not obligated to disclose details or justification for participation restrictions. Attempts to circumvent restrictions may result in permanent exclusion.
Grievance and Reporting Process
Concerns or violations of this Code of Conduct may be reported through Trans Affirm’s official grievance channels listed on the organization’s website. Reports may be submitted anonymously, though providing detailed information and documentation improves our ability to respond.
Grievances are reviewed by designated leadership or the full Board of Directors, depending on scope and severity.
Appeals
Appeals may be submitted in good faith through the established process. Trans Affirm is not obligated to reverse decisions, particularly in cases involving repeated or serious violations. Decisions made to protect community safety may be upheld without modification.
Consequences of Violations
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in corrective action, including but not limited to verbal or written warnings, temporary suspension, removal from events or programs, restriction from digital spaces, or termination of volunteer or board involvement.
Severity of action is determined by leadership or the Board based on the nature, impact, and pattern of behavior.
Acknowledgment
By participating in Trans Affirm activities, events, or spaces, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.
Failure to comply may result in probation or disciplinary action as outlined above.

Trans Affirm, Inc. is a registered nonprofit organization. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Our EIN is available upon request or through donation platforms.
As a nonprofit, Trans Affirm does not endorse or oppose political candidates or parties. We may engage in nonpartisan advocacy and public education on issues that directly affect trans and gender diverse communities, in compliance with nonprofit regulations.
Privacy and Confidentiality
We prioritize the privacy and safety of all community members, volunteers, and participants.
Personal information shared in support groups, events, online spaces, or via forms is treated confidentially and is not shared without explicit consent, except when required by law or to protect safety.
Trans Affirm does not out participants, volunteers, or staff without consent.
By attending events or participating in programs, participants may be subjected to photos or media being taken. Any photos for organizational use will be requested verbally to individuals to ensure photos are okay to be posted. Exceptions include participants personal photos, and reasonable presence in the far background.
Participants agree to respect the privacy and confidentiality of all other attendees and community members or be subjected to removal.
Volunteer and Leadership Expectations
Volunteers, board members, and staff are expected to uphold the values, mission, and policies of Trans Affirm. Key responsibilities include:
Following the Code of Conduct, including respect, safety, and professionalism
Protecting confidential information and community privacy
Receiving approval from leadership before posting organizational content publicly
Participating actively and constructively in events, programs, and organizational operations
Understanding that refusal to follow organizational policies or repeated violations may result in removal from volunteer or leadership roles
Participation Agreement
By attending Trans Affirm events or participating in programs, participants acknowledge and agree to the following:
They will follow the Code of Conduct and other organizational policies
They understand that behavior that causes harm, harassment, or disruption may result in removal from events or digital spaces
They consent to reasonable use of photos or media for organizational purposes, with the ability to request exceptions. WE WILL ALWAYS ASK BEFORE TAKING PHOTOS, but cannot vouch for attendees in this space.
They respect the privacy, safety, and well-being of all community members, volunteers, and staff
